K & S’s wedding was a beautiful blend of tradition, faith, and modern elegance—an intimate celebration that honored their Catholic and Korean roots while embracing the unique style that defines Los Angeles weddings. Their ceremony took place in a Catholic church, where the couple exchanged vows in front of family and friends. The sacred space was filled with reverence and warmth, as they stood before the altar, surrounded by soft candlelight and floral arrangements that echoed the purity of their love.

One of the more touching moments was seeing K walk down the aisle, radiant in her lace gown and holding her mother’s hand. Her mother wore a hanbok, a traditional Korean dress I often see being worn during weddings or other significant milestones. The hanbok, with its graceful lines and symbolic pastel colors, added a meaningful layer to the ceremony. It highlighted the generational ties and cultural heritage that were so important to the day. While it’s common in Korean weddings for the bride or both sets of parents to wear hanbok, in this case, it was K’s mother who honored the tradition, a subtle but beautiful nod to their Korean identity.

After the church ceremony, the celebration continued at The Oviatt Penthouse in downtown Los Angeles. Known for its rooftop views and Art Deco architecture, the venue brought a distinctly urban flair to the evening. Guests dined and danced under a transparent tent strung with warm lights, with the city skyline rising around them. It was the perfect setting for a mixed culture wedding—blending the timeless with the contemporary, the spiritual with the stylish.

Photographing K & S’s wedding felt like witnessing the harmony of two worlds coming together. From the reverent moments of prayer to the laughter echoing off the rooftop walls, every part of their day reflected the heart of a couple deeply rooted in tradition but unafraid to make their own mark. It’s weddings like these that remind me why I love what I do.
