Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you prounce “Au”?

A: It’s alright I get that a lot, it’s like the “Owl” without the L.

Q: What is your shooting style?

A: I like to think of my style as a blend of unobtrusive photo-journalism with my own artistic touch. It is an important aspect for me to take the time to get to know the bride and groom; getting a better feel of their personalities. Being on a comfortable level with them creates the space I need to be able to truly capture the essence of the happiness as the events of their wedding day unfold. I am not an editorial or fashion photographer, and my wedding photographer is not to make you a Hollywood star; instead, I capture the essence and emotions of your wedding you wish to retain for a lifetime.

Q: How much does your service cost?

A: Complete wedding packages start at $2,895.  Our comprehensive wedding photography service starts at $3,695. Please contact us for a complete price list. Since every wedding is special, we are also happy to create a custom package just for you, to meet your unique photography needs.

Q: Can we set up a meeting before I sign a contract with you?

A: Absolutely! In fact, I always prefer to meet with my clients personally to ensure we’re on the same page on what we expect, whether it is Black and White you prefer, or something that you’ve seen in my past work, or if you like the left side of your face better than the right. I take all my assignments personally, and I always try my absolute best to do it right.

Q: What’s your service area coverage?

A: Our office is based in Arcadia, and our main service area covers the general Los Angeles area and Orange County.  We generally also cover a few weddings from San Diego to the San Francisco Bay Area several times a year as well.  We would gladly work with destination weddings with minimal travel fees.

Q: My parents want some family pictures and group pictures on my wedding day, can I get some of those pictures?

A: Of course! I would recommend that you and your family put together a list of the pictures you want to make sure you get. That way, in the middle of all of the excitement that is your wedding day, you don’t miss out on anything.

Q: Who chooses the engagement photo locations?

A: You can choose where you like your pictures to be taken, and I’ll give you my honest opinion based on my experience. If you don’t have any preference, you could either source the popular bridal forums, such as projectwedding.com and weddingbee.com, or I can recommend some of the more popular spots for you to choose from.

Q: Do you Photoshop all your images?

A: Every image that I deliver to you will be images the best represent your event and pictures that I believe you will love. After carefully screening every photograph, all of those pictures will be color and exposure corrected. Finally, all images ordered on prints along with a group of selected images will be specially retouched with Photoshop. I do not deliver any pictures SOOC (straight out of camera). Your printed photographs will be developed by my trusted photo lab on Kodak or Fuji Archival Photo Paper (or equivalent) with a beautiful matte finish. All our final prints and enlargements are handled by the best in the industry – WHCC.

Q: I saw some pictures in a bridal magazine that I really like. Can you shoot the same picture for me?

A: It’s great that you are getting an idea of what you want. I would encourage you to gather inspiration for what you are looking for from your wedding photos. You know what they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words”, so bring pictures with you. While I can’t guarantee you the same exact picture as you see in the magazine, it would be a great way to communicate what you have in mind with a picture than just words alone.

Q: Would you do any weddings outside of Southern California or destination weddings?

A: I normally shoot 4 to 5 assignments outside of Southern California every year.  I love destination weddings!  Talk to me about it, and we can discuss the details and work something out at our consultation session.

Q: Where do you usually meet your clients?

A: My studio is located at 420 Rolyn Place, Arcadia, CA.  It is conveniently located right off the Santa Anita exit from the 210 freeway.  I can also arrange to meet you at any local coffee shop for your convenience, and and show you some of my printed work and sample albums.

Q: Do you shoot film or digital?

A: Entirely digital.

Q: I’m looking for other wedding services.  Do you have any vendors you would recommend?

A: I am fortunate enough to have worked with many awesome vendors in the past. Here’s a short list of some of them.  I believe they too put their heart into what they do, and I’m confident you’ll feel the same!
