Q: I’m engaged, and I’m looking for a wedding photographer.  How does it all work?

Q: How do you prounce “Au”?

A: It’s alright I get that a lot, it’s like the “Owl” without the L.

Q: How does your wedding photography differ from the others?

A: I am proud to be a wedding photographer, and 95% of our work is wedding related.  We specialize in weddings, experienced with it, and we are very passionate about it.  You will never find any shots of a model putting on a wedding gown pretending to be a wedding shoot on our site.  Our photography is simple, genuine, and often times heart-warming.  We are true photojournalists who go the extra mile to not disrupt or intrude your wedding while we do our job. We pride ourselves for refining our craft in capturing the essence in weddings – the anticipation, the love, the laughter, and the tears.  We believe great wedding pictures would help you preserve those great memories for a lifetime, and we continue to work hard every day to achieve that goal for all our clients.

Q: I’m new to this.  How does this all work?

A: I think it’s safe to say that most of our clients are hiring a wedding photographer for the very first time.  So chances are, you’re not alone!  Contact us to schedule an appointment to come pay us a visit.  We’ll sit down and share with you our experience and we’ll help you find the right service package that best fits you.

Q: How much does your service cost?

A: Our comprehensive wedding photography services start at $4,000.   Please contact us for a complete price list. Since every wedding is special, we are also happy to create a custom package just for you, to meet your unique photography needs.

Q: Can we set up a meeting before I sign a contract with you?

A: Absolutely!  In fact, We always prefer to meet with my clients personally to ensure we’re on the same page on what we expect. We take all our assignments personally, and we always try my absolute best to do it right.  Our studio is located conveniently close to the 210 freeway in Pasadena.  Please contact us to schedule for an appointment.

Q: What’s your service area coverage?

A: Our studio is based in Pasadena, and our main service area covers the general Los Angeles area and Orange County.  We generally also cover a few weddings from San Diego to the San Francisco Bay Area several times a year as well with minimal travel fees.  We also offer discounted travel rates for destination weddings.

Q: Do you take formal pictures?

A: Most certainly.  We usually work with our clients to come up with a formal shot list prior to the wedding day, and we take awesome formal portraits!

Q: Do you have a 2nd photographer?

A: All our packages include a second photographer at no extra cost.  Not only does that provide you with extra angles, but more importantly it provides you with an extra assurance that everything will be captured and captured well.  We do not outsource the 2nd shooter position.  Instead, we train all our in-house 2nd photographers.  We hold team meetings and workshops to promote teamwork and to stay on top of our game.

Q: Who chooses the engagement photo locations?

A: You can choose where you like your pictures to be taken, and we will give you our honest opinion based on our experience. If you don’t have any preference, you could either source the popular bridal forums, such as projectwedding.com and weddingbee.com, or we can recommend some of the more popular spots for you to choose from.  You can always look through some of the past engagement pictures to get some inspiration!

Q: Do you Photoshop all your images?

A: Every image that I deliver to you will be images the best represent your event and pictures that we believe you will love. After carefully screening every photograph, all of those pictures will be color and exposure corrected. Finally, all images ordered on prints along with a group of selected images will be specially retouched with Photoshop. We do not deliver any pictures SOOC (straight out of camera). Your printed photographs will be developed by my trusted photo lab on Kodak or Fuji Archival Photo Paper (or equivalent) with a beautiful matte finish. All our final prints and enlargements are handled by the best in the industry – WHCC.

Q: Will I have to purchase my pictures after my wedding?

A: All our comprehensive wedding packages come with a DVD will all the images.  We generally provide you with 800-1000 images all edited, and there will be no hidden cost or extra charges.  We want you to enjoy your wedding pictures and not worry about having to pay extra for them!

Q: I saw some pictures in a bridal magazine that I really like. Can you shoot the same picture for me?

A: It’s great that you are getting an idea of what you want. We would encourage you to gather inspiration for what you are looking for from your wedding photos. You know what they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words”, so bring pictures with you. While I can’t guarantee you the same exact picture as you see in the magazine, it would be a great way to communicate what you have in mind with a picture than just words alone.

Q: Would you do any weddings outside of Southern California or destination weddings?

A: We normally shoot several assignments outside of Southern California every year.  We love destination weddings!  Talk to me about it, and we can discuss the details and work something out at our consultation session.

Q: Where do you usually meet your clients?

A: Our studio is located at 2355 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena CA 91107.  It is conveniently located right off the Santa Anita exit from the 210 freeway.  I can also arrange to meet you at any local coffee shop for your convenience, and and show you some of my printed work and sample albums.

Q: Do you shoot film or digital?

A: Entirely digital.
